Seminar on women participation in the trade unions
As planned, the seminar on training women local leaders, was organised in Tirana, on
25, 26 and 27 October 2007.
25 participants, from both FSASH and SPASH, most of them women committee local leaders, from 13 districts, took part in the Seminar and had three days work on how to organise better women teachers in the trade unions.
Our trainers organised the first day, then AOb trainer Claire Oostvriesland joined the seminar in the second and third days.
Both chairmen of FSASH and SPASH, Dobrushi and Kruja, took part in the seminar and gave their contribution, especially during the discussions about the problems and the working program for the future.

It was important that the seminar was organised after a serious concrete work in the respective sections to organise women committees and improve the situation.
The seminar was very useful for all the participants. It was discussed the actual situation; what we have done up to now; what are the problems we are facing; which are the aims in the near future and further; how to organise better structures; which are the most important short term priorities and long term ones; how to profit by Dutch experience etc. Dutch expert, Claire Oostvriesland was very active during the plenary sessions, in smaller working groups where a lot of discussions were made, as well as during the planning of concrete actions, also drawing some conclusions on the trade union work regarding the topic.
Some of the main points of the action plan were:
- Organisation of similar trainings with women teachers in the respective districts by trained women,
- Working more concretely to increase the number of women teachers in the trade unions,
- Insisting on improving the legislation and implementing the collective agreement regarding women status,
- Elaboration of the most important issues which will be the subject of the upper level seminars planned to be organised with women who have already got the basic training.
Heads of women committees of both FSASH and SPASH, being present in the seminar, had direct contacts with women local leaders and agreed about the concrete actions and activities to be organised in every district, according to the action plan elaborated and approved in the seminar.
