MEETING OF THE MINISTER OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE

WITH THE LEADERS OF FSASH AND SPASH

 

The Minister of Education and Science, Prof. Dr. Myqerem Tafaj, had a working meeting with leaders of FSASH and SPASH, Mr. Xhafer Dobrushi and Mr. Bajram Kruja,related to the objectives of social partnership between both partners.

Both leaders of the trade unions informed the Minister about the work and the activities of their trade unions to protect social and economic interests of teachers, as well as about their concrete engagement in the process of reformation and modernisation of education system in our country, being focused especially in achieving qualitative education for all, vocational training of teachers, enlarging the trade union work regarding minimisation of pupils’ dropping out from school etc.

They also asked for starting the preparations from both partners for the negotiations about the new collective agreement and, in this contexts, they raised some problems created by some Educational Directories, which don’t respect and consider correctly the contractual obligations regarding labour relations, correct implementation of legal and contractual criteria related to dismissal of teachers, their transfer from the job places and consider of trade unions freedom.

The Minister of Education and Science, Mr. Myqerem Tafaj, appreciated the achieved results, especially regarding the effective partnership between both partners and pointed out the necessity that this partnership to be even more effective and more real in the future, not only in first level, between the Ministry and trade unions, but also in the second level, between Educational Directorates and trade union sections in the districts.

He expressed his understanding and the readiness of the Ministry of Education and Science, to establish working groups and start all the preparations for the negotiations about the new collective agreement in the first level and pointed out that both partners should be correct and responsible for the implementation of its provisions.

He also asked for understanding and for real support from the trade unions in increasing the demands towards teachers, aiming their higher professional and scientific abilities, in order to respond to the actual demands for a qualitative education.

Both partners agreed to be met periodically in order to solve in process joint problems raised during their work.

Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Mr. Halit Shamata, took also part in the meeting.
